Despite relatively bad news emerging from very many Icelandic rivers this season, the Big Laxá included, it has still had it‘s moment and recently some of the rivers huge salmon have been giving anglers rude awkenings!
These past few days, several big one‘s have been landed, two 100 cm, 0ne 99,5 cm, one 99 cm and several 90 plus. The ageless Lilla Rowcliffe has been fishing the river, all 94 years of her, along with family members and it is as if the Laxá‘s huge salmon follow her to the country. Lilla herselve landed one of 94 cm, having regularly landed 100 plus over the years. Her son Hugo had one of 99 cm, her sons son another of 99,5 cm, only eleven years old! Along the way, local anglers Anna Kristín and Nils Folmer, landed 100 cm specimens! All good among all the bad news!
